6 things to note when making homemade dog food
Generally speaking, in order to meet the needs of dogs' growth and development and normal reproduction, homemade dog food should be composed of a variety of feed: animal-based (meat, fish and its by-products); plant-based (rice, wheat, corn, potatoes, cabbage, radish; minerals (bone meal, calcium powder, salt) and vitamins (yeast and various vitamins).
In order to ensure the health of the dog and prevent disease infections and the invasion of strange insects, the following basic things should be paid attention to when making homemade dog food for dogs:
1. Raw meat or fish should be washed with cold water, and the fish should remove scales, internal organs and spines, chop and cook;
2. Wash, rinse, then chop and boil for a few minutes;
3. Wash the rice with clean water and cook it into rice or porridge;
4. When feeding, add meat and vegetables to the rice and add a little salt and condiments in the appropriate amount. (Don't be high in salt and high in oil!)
5. The feed should be fed immediately, and do not overnight, especially in summer, and the remaining food is prone to spoilage. Do not feed the dog food to avoid illness or poisoning.
6. The food for feeding dogs should be too cold and overheated, and it is advisable to feed 35-40℃. However, cold food should be fed in summer, fresh food, and warm food should be preferred in winter.
