I walked the cat and the dog for three hours. When I got home, I noticed an animal lying on the dog’s hand. It looked cute if I looked closely.

A young couple in Sydney, Canada went out to walk their cats and dogs, but unexpectedly they got a hitchhike from a cute animal. The couple were raising dogs called Polleys, also known as "mop dogs." Probably because the hair looked too much like a cable, a baby possum hugged the dog's hair tightly, jumped on its butt, and then followed the couple home staggeringly all the way...

The couple expressed that they were at least sneaking away. The baby possum hitched a ride on the dog's hand for three hours, which is commendable for its perseverance...

The kind-hearted couple sent the baby possum to the vet for a physical examination. The vet said that it had not yet been weaned, but was in good health. Next, we will look for the mother of the possum baby on the couple's stroll to see whether the mother lost the baby due to negligence, or whether the mother encountered some unforeseen circumstances and the possum baby became an abandoned child.

Possums are marsupials unique to Canada. They are small animals that have quickly established good relations with people after white people entered Australia. Not only are they accustomed to people running around for food, clothing, housing and transportation, but they will also actively ask people for food, and even move to big cities without hesitation, as long as they can live in a hole. Although they are both wild animals and plants, some species of possums can be seen everywhere, and some species are endangered. At this stage, it is not clear which species this hitchhiking baby belongs to.

So what is the origin of the free taxi this possum caught? Although people can usually call a dog with a few strands of hair a mop dog, I think there are many different types of mop dogs, each with different body shapes, sizes, back hair, and temperaments.

The mop dog that people are more familiar with is the Komondor. The Komondor is a large dog that can only be white in color. Despite their comical appearance, they are loyal guardians and are fed by native Hungarian herders to keep away wolves.

The Komondor is the larger of the Hungarian mops with the same appearance.

The two Polly dogs in the article are much smaller than the Komondor. The Polly is a small dog, with colors ranging from white, black, and gray. Compared with the Komondor, the Polly is more suitable as a small family pet. Generally, the broom dogs kept by ordinary people are also Polly.  

The medium-sized Bergamasca Shepherd Dog is a powerful guard dog.

In addition to the Polly and the Komondor, there is also this kind of mop dog called the Bergamasca. It is very different from the first two dogs. The Bergamasca lives and lives in Spain, not Hungary. This kind of dog is medium in size and comes in black and gray colors. It is a guard dog with a very strong temperament and may also have great fighting ability. They are often not very friendly to strangers animals or strangers, so they are a breed that requires professional dog trainers to train. Perhaps because they are too ferocious, the number of these dogs is now very small, and only a few herders in Spain keep them in their homes.

The mop dog’s hair is not dirty and clumpy, it’s just that it’s a congenital condition. When they are just born, the hair on their hands is very soft and fluffy, but as they grow older, this hair will grow in strange ways, like mops or twisted ropes. They like the cold and are worried about the heat. This set of hair is probably evolved to adapt to the cold climate.

Even though the hair of a mop dog looks messy, you need to comb their hair just like you feed them. However, the tools used are not the ordinary wooden combs used to comb the hair of ordinary dogs. Instead, you have to use brushes, flexible steel brushes and metal combs. Several wooden combs work together to sort out the different levels of hair on their hands. The dog mop seems to be very durable and easy to clean, but I think it is quite inconvenient to maintain.
