ESPN: Nottingham Forest invited Palmeiras to coach last month, but was rejected by the other party

ESPN reported that Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira rejected an invitation from Nottingham Forest last month.

After Nottingham Forest fired Nuno, they immediately contacted fellow Portuguese Abel Ferreira, but the latter quickly closed the door to negotiations, mainly because he is now fully committed to his work at Palmeiras, and he is now close to renewing his contract with the club until December 2027.

According to reports, Abel Ferreira's new contract will not include a termination clause this time, and this situation applies to both parties. In other words, the Portuguese coach can leave the team without paying any fees, and the same goes for the club.

The 46-year-old Abel Ferreira has coached Palmeiras since 2020. During this period, he has led the team to participate in 384 official games and won 10 championship trophies, including the Brazilian League Championship (2022 and 2023) and the South American Libertadores Cup Championship (2020 and 2021).
