Lamens: It felt wonderful to play against Manchester United youth teams in Antwerp
Lamons recalled his experience of playing against Manchester United youth team. While playing for Club Bruges, he had a match with Manchester United. In February 2020, the youth teams of the two clubs played a friendly match, and Manchester United won 2-0, with the goalkeepers being Zhong Tasi and James Garner.
"Wow, I remember this game," Ramens said in an exclusive interview with Carrington. "That should be a second team or a U18 game, we played a friendly game at home. It was a big day and the first team played. Unfortunately, I didn't play first team, but it was really great to be able to play against these young players. Seeing some of the people here, like Zhongtasi, I played with him. You can see some of the great talents of the time. It felt wonderful to be able to play with such a team that you have been paying attention to since childhood. I almost forgot about this, but this photo reminded me of that time."
Ramens left Bruges to join Real Antwerp in 2023. The 23-year-old goalkeeper proved himself to be one of Europe's best young goalkeepers after the transfer.
"To be honest, everything is fine in Bruges, I'm having fun there, and I've made a lot of progress since the start of youth training. But as a goalkeeper, sometimes you'll meet a big-name player in front of you, you have to be realistic and maybe take another path."
"You also need to be patient because I didn't have a chance to play in the first year of Antwerp, but in the long run, I think it's a good choice. Looking back, it's also a good choice because I got a lot of opportunities in Antwerp and learned a lot, which brought me to where I am today."
"I'm so happy to have made this decision, but at the same time, looking back, I don't have any bad reviews of Bruges. Every place I've been to is positive."
