Undefeated in September! Crystal Palace coach Glasner was elected Premier League Manager of the Month, winning the award for the first time in his career
Austrian coach Oliver Glasner led Crystal Palace to remain undefeated in September and was elected as the Premier League Coach of the Month, winning this award for the first time in his career.
Crystal Palace, managed by Glasner, remained unbeaten in September, extending their unbeaten streak in all competitions to 19 games. The team drew 0-0 with Sunderland at the beginning of the month, then beat West Ham United 2-1 away from home, and dramatically defeated Liverpool at the end of the month, becoming the only unbeaten team in the Premier League that month.
The 51-year-old Glasner (taking office in February 2024) became the second Austrian coach to win this award after Ralph Hasenhuttl (Southampton) in July 2020, and the first Crystal Palace coach to win the award since Tony Pulis in April 2014.
After combining fan votes and expert jury opinions, Glasner stood out from the four-person candidate list (including Pep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta and Reggie Le Bris).
Crystal Palace is expected to win two more awards today: Tyrik Mitchell's stunning long-range shot against West Ham is nominated for the Goal of the Month award, and goalkeeper Dean Henderson's superb save to block Hrafenberch is competing for the Best Saver of the Month award.
