British media: Ramsdale has informed Southampton of his willingness to leave the team, and he tends to stay in England
British media Givemesport reported that Ramsdale has informed Southampton that he wants to leave the team this summer.
Ramsdale joined Southampton for an initial £18m fee last summer, mainly in search of regular first-team appearances, but Ramsdale is currently planning to leave due to Southampton's relegation.
Sources revealed that Ramsdale does not think he has a long-term future in Southampton and he is willing to transfer and leave before the transfer window is closed this summer. Although Southampton is more willing to keep the 27-year-old in his journey to return to the Championship, they also know the goalkeeper's ambition to return to the top league.
Some Türkiye's clubs have expressed interest in Ramsdale, and West Ham and Sunderland are also paying attention to his situation. While overseas teams can provide opportunities to compete in European events and guaranteed playing time, Ramsdale is said to be more inclined to stay in England.
Ramsdale's current contract has two years left to expire, and Southampton also has the option to extend the contract for another one year. This means that any permanent transfer could involve a considerable transfer fee, and the Times revealed that Ramsdale's contract contains a £20 million downgrade termination clause.
