There are five major factors that allow Samsung to take over Tesla s chip foundry business

Samsung Electronics and Tesla, a major US electric vehicle manufacturer, reached a chip foundry agreement worth US$16.5 billion. Former foreign-owned analyst Shu Xingzhi said that three major factors are caused by it, namely cheap, high control, and no conflict of interests.

Transport's personal Facebook fan page stated that Tesla announced that AI6 vehicle chips are manufactured at Samsung 2nm (AI4 is Samsung 14/7nm foundry, and AI5 is 4nm Telco), with a term of at least US$16.5 billion by 2033. It is currently understood that it is not a Dojo 3 System on Wafer (SoW) system chip, the main reason is:

1. Cheap: Samsung's 3-nanometer yield has improved recently, but it is not difficult to have a high 2-nanometer yield in a few years. In this way, Samsung's price is lower than that of Taiwan.

2. Control system: Mask said that Samsung's Texas factory is very close to Tesla's factory and can enter the factory at any time to help Samsung improve its production lines, and Taiwan Electric cannot answer Mask's way to TSMC Arizona Fabs. Is it true that Mask's electric vehicle manufacturing background can help semiconductors, or is it that Mac wants to learn semiconductor manufacturing thoroughly and extend the electric vehicle/robot production to the upstream semiconductor manufacturing (it's ambitions, except for Samsung, no system product companies have succeeded).

3. No conflict of interests: Unlike Apple and Samsung, Apple has a competitive relationship with Apple in terms of smartphones. Currently, Samsung has not entered the field of electric vehicles and robots, and can also provide DRAM, NAND, and battery products to Tesla, so it has the advantage of not competing with customers with Taiwan Electric.

4. 南后: Tesla now sells less than 200 units a year, and AI4 is less than 4 million. The amount of chips used in the car is really small for the electric power, but with the personality of Mask's painting buns (there will be a few million robots in the future) it will definitely be requested for the electric power. Large customers will recognize it if they use Apple, but Mask may kick the iron plate. But when you go to Samsung, you are a god, and the red carpet is welcome to visit.

5. Spread the risk: If Tesla Robotaxi and Optimus 3 are really sold in the future, it would be reasonable for Tesla to find two foundries to spread the risk and make AI chips of different generations. By then, Tesla may find that Wower, how can Taiwan power supply progress, yield, chip energy consumption and speed be better than Samsung, it is better to place more orders for Taiwan power supply.
